Dinner on Carnival’s Valor

Our first dinner on the cruise was great. Good food and good company. We got to meet our assigned dinner friends for the week and they’re all fun and interesting people. Jose and Janet are from New York City and Marc and Diane are from New Brunswick, Canada.

You know how every restaurant has that one table that is in just the worst place? Well cruise ships have those, too, and we’re all sitting at it. To the right and left of us are prep stations. It’s terribly noisy with the sound of rattling silverware and dishes and there is constant traffic back and forth by the wait staff. But we really like our new cruise friends, so we didn’t complain or ask to be reseated. In retrospect, I should have asked to have the whole dinner party moved to another table.
